The concept seemed too wild to grasp.
“Absolutely.” The old man’s chest swelled with pride as he spoke.
“Well, what do you think? You can’t tell she has changed her appearance entirely, right? To those not in the know, Sadie might appear to have had just a minor surgery. But the truth is a stark contrast. After the surgery, she looked like a new person. I’m the only one who could achieve such a feat.”
He beamed with pride, eagerly anticipating Ariana’s praise.
Ariana feigned astonishment, clapping her hands together. “This is incredible! Your skills as a surgeon are truly remarkable!”
Yet, inside, her thoughts were in turmoil.
Why had Sadie changed her appearance entirely? Aiming for stardom didn’t seem to justify her decision for that. Even if her natural looks weren’t flawless, she didn’t need to do that. After receiving the cup of coffee Ariana brought, the old man drank it. Refreshed, he looked at Ariana, and his expression shifted. “I do remember now, but the hospital must maintain patient confidentiality. I can’t tell you.”
Ariana, speechless, could only roll her eyes internally.
